Racial Harmony Day commemorates the 1964 racial riots in Singapore. At Kent Ridge this year, we enjoyed a comedic skit by an external vendor on common shenanigans among neighbours and how we should be more tolerant towards one another regardless of our differences. Students and teachers sportingly appeared in traditional attire and bagged points for their classes. The top three classes were encouraged with prizes, courtesy of the Humanities Department. The day was made more fun with the sales of traditional food items such as ‘Otak Otak’ during the respective recesses by the Parents Support Group. All in all, it was a day of learning and celebration.
