EMERGENCY EVACUATION EXERCISE TO EHA

There was an incessant buzz on Friday morning from Kent Ridge Secondary School all the way to Waseda Shibuya Senior High School. Staff and students participated in our first emergency evacuation exercisel to an External Holding Area (EHA). We responded as swiftly as we could from the moment the emergency bell rung at 8:31am. The leaders of the various functional groups kept a cool head and provided clear instructions to team members throughout the exercise while students and staff were guided to the EHA safely and efficiently by staff who took on the role of road marshals. Form teachers took care of the students’ well-being as they braved the hot, humid weather and risky road crosses. Once everyone returned to school about 2.5 hours later, the exercise drew to a close with a quick debrief and feedback from Principal, Mr Keh. All in all, the exercise was successful and it was only possible with the collective effort of all Kent Ridgeans and staff members.
